Together with the Gray-blue gneiss stone slabs, Homa stone slabs are most suitable for outdoor flooring, garden pathways, and yard paving, as they have a relatively flat surface. The natural relief accentuates the beauty of the natural stone and protects against slipping during icy winter months. The colors are calm, unobtrusive, and relaxing: earthy, beige, gray, and brown.
When placing, it is important to follow leveling, especially when working with large joints. The strength of the stone is legendary, and with a well-tamped or leveled concrete base, you will create a beautiful Roman pavement for many generations to come.
Outdoor pavements with irregular, polygonal slabs and grass joints with large, thick slabs No. 4 for pathways are recommended for several reasons:
Drainage and water management: This type of pavement allows rainwater to drain more easily, as there are grass joints between the slabs and the water is absorbed. This reduces the risk of puddles forming and protects the surface from flooding or damage.
Aesthetics: Polygonal slabs with grass joints give a natural look to the pavement, which harmonizes with the surrounding environment. This style can be particularly suitable for gardens, private yards, and shared spaces. The atmosphere is special and provides coziness, uniqueness, practicality, freshness, and energetic dynamics from the polygonal arrangement.
Stability: Due to their irregular shape, the slabs are arranged naturally and create a stable surface. This allows for better resistance to loads and wear.
To ensure a level pavement suitable for placing tables and chairs, the furniture should have appropriate pads to distribute the weight between the stone and the joints to avoid sinking.
For installation and maintenance:
Base preparation: Make sure the pavement base is levelled (well tamped) and stable. It is good to first use: drainage layer and second: fine sand for cushioning under the slabs.
Place the stone slabs, leaving equal distances between them, where the grass will grow.
Adjusting the joints: If necessary, you can adjust the grass joints by adding additional material (soil or sand) to level the surface.
Choose a type of grass suitable and resilient for your climatic zone and sow the seeds in the joints. Regularly water the newly planted grass, especially during the first few weeks, and then during the summer months.
Regular mowing of the grass joints helps maintain the aesthetic appearance and prevent excessive growth. Remove unwanted weeds. Protect the grass joints from heavy loads. If there are areas with damaged grass, you can sow new seeds.
With proper care and maintenance, outdoor paving with stone slabs and grass joints can provide a beautiful and functional element in your outdoor space. The most important thing is to design your garden to meet your needs, provide comfort, and make you happy.
